About Us
The Winkin' Rooster is the result of a decade of dreaming. Owner Doug McCulloch had always dreamed of owning his own restaurant. That dream took several detours over the years (as most dreams do), until he walked into the restaurant now known as The Winkin' Rooster.
People ask about the name. The name goes back to when Doug's son (Henry) was about two years old. He had a favorite musician but could not pronounce his name correctly. After a concert the musician was walking by and with as much joy as a 2 year-old can possess, Henry called out "Dad, It's Winkin' Rooster!" and the name was born.
